2. Introduction to jazz blues forms and progressions.
3. Application of harmony through analysis and performance.
Rhythmic Styles:
1. Developing the 2/4 swing feel and rhythmic placement.
2. Understanding core swing styles and stylistic variations.
3. Introduction to Latin rhythms, including Bossa Nova fundamentals.
Form and Improvisation:
1. Understanding common jazz forms and structures.
2. Navigating form confidently during performance.
3. Applying melodic and rhythmic ideas in basic bass solos.
Collaboration and Performance:
1. Generating musical ideas collaboratively within an ensemble.
2. Rehearsing and refining group arrangements and concepts.
